Purpose : To help educate the community about 4 diseases that are impacting the African American community at alarming rates
Breast Cancer: October is Breast Cancer awareness month! Dr. Regina Hampton, a Board Certified Surgeon and Breast Specialist, is the Medical Director, at the Breast Center of Doctors Community Medical Center in Prince George’s County (MD)
Heart Disease: Dr Joseph Quash is a Interventional Cardiologist who will be discussing Coronary Artery Disease. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the USA.
Nutrition: Ms. Jillian Griffith, a registered dietician with Giant Foods, will discuss heart healthy diet
Colon Cancer : Dr Melanie Jackson is a Gastroenterologist with Anne Arundel Gastroenterology. She will be discussing Colon Cancer and different screening methods for Colon Cancer.
Mental Health: Mrs. Joan Branch,. President and CEO of Interdynamics, Inc a Behavioral Health Firm, will address the stress due to the pandemic , social injustice and our political environment.
