Sickle Cell Disease: How to Save Lives With Blood Donation

Sickle cell disease (SCD) is an inherited blood disorder that has no universal cure. Blood transfusions can help reduce recurrent pain crises patients often feel, as well as other sickle cell disease complications such as organ damage and even strokes.
SCD disproportionately impacts the Black community, and a single patient with SCD can require thousands of blood transfusions throughout their life.

Please join The Gamma Pi Chapter's Health Initiative Committee as we speak with Ms. Beth Carrion, Red Cross Club Coordinator for the National Capital & Greater Chesapeake Region about Sickle Cell Disease and how blood donation can save lives.
