Discover the creativity and engineering prowess of local high school students at the 12th Annual DC Electric Vehicle Grand Prix!

This event highlights Duval High School's intensive preparations and participation, which was sponsored by the Gamma Pi STEM Committee, Councilmember at-large Calvin Hawkins, and the Friendship Charities Foundation, Inc.

Come support these future innovators as they test their self-built, driver-controlled, battery-powered vehicles, competing against other schools from the DMV area. The challenge? To determine which school has engineered a vehicle that can travel the fastest and farthest on battery power alone.

This is a true celebration of hands-on science and engineering by talented young minds. Witness firsthand which school's creation leads the pack in both speed and endurance.

Event Schedule:

• 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Inspect the high school electric cars

• 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Practice and qualifying sessions

• 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Welcoming ceremony

• 12:30 PM: Race countdown

• 3:30 PM: Awards ceremony
