Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Gamma Pi (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects information through https://gammapi.org/ (the “Site”). The Site is operated by our organization. Torch Workspace, LLC provides website and platform services to us as a technical service provider but is not the controller of information collected through the Site.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Contact and event form submissions — name, email, phone, and message content.
- Where you provide a mobile number for text messages, that number and your consent to receive them. See section 7.
If our Site collects membership dues: membership status, amounts owed and paid, and payment records. Payment card details are handled by the payment processor and are not stored by us.
Information collected automatically
Usage and device data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring source — via cookies and analytics. See section 5.

3 · HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
We do not sell personal information. We do not sell or share mobile numbers or text-message consent with anyone.
We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Site and communicate with members, and as required by law. These providers process information on our behalf.
4. TEXT MESSAGES AND EMAIL
Email. Our emails comply with the CAN-SPAM Act and include an unsubscribe link.
Text messages are covered in full in section 7.
5 · COOKIES AND ANALYTICS
Our Site uses cookies and Google Analytics to understand usage and improve the Site. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where a cookie banner is shown, through your consent choices. Disabling cookies may affect some Site features.
6 · DATA RETENTION AND SECURITY
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law. We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, though no system is completely secure.
7 · Text messages
Program name: Gamma Pi Chapter member notifications
We send text messages only to members who have given prior express consent to receive them.
What we send. Meeting reminders, event announcements, dues reminders, and time-sensitive membership notices.
Who receives them. Members of our organization who have opted in. We do not send text messages to non-members.
How you opt in. By providing your mobile number and agreeing to receive text messages when you join, when you complete your membership profile, or by texting a keyword to our number.
Message frequency. Message frequency varies.
Cost. Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier’s rates apply and we do not control them.
Consent is not a condition of membership or of any purchase.
How to opt out. Reply STOP to any message at any time. You will receive one confirmation message and no further messages. You may also contact us at info@gammapi.org to be removed.
How to get help. Reply HELP to any message, or contact us at info@gammapi.org.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Program name, what is sent, message frequency, “message and data rates may apply,” a support contact, and HELP and STOP instructions in bold. If this section is missing any of them, the A2P campaign is likely to be rejected. Make sure HELP and STOP render in bold on the published page, not just in this document.
8 · Children's privacy (COPPA)
we DO collect from minors, for example scholarships
Some of our programs, such as scholarships, may collect information from minors. Where we knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13, we comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, including obtaining verifiable parental consent where required and limiting collection to what is necessary for the program. Parents or guardians may review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of their child’s information by contacting us using section 10.
9 · YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended and comparable laws in states such as Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut. To exercise any right, contact us using section 10. We do not sell personal information.
