Through scholarship, service, mentoring, brotherhood, and community engagement, Gamma Pi Chapter advances the mission of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. across Prince George’s County and beyond.
Internationally Mandated Programs
Internationally Mandated Programs
These programs reflect Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.’s enduring commitment to achievement, scholarship, service, health, social action, and the development of future generations.
Achievement week
Achievement Week is observed each November and is designed to recognize those individuals at the local and international levels who have contributed to community uplift. A High School Essay Contest is to be held in conjunction with Achievement Week.
Scholarship
Scholarship promotes academic excellence among the undergraduate members. Graduate chapters provide financial assistance to student members and non-members.
Social Action
Chapters participate in activities that will uplift their communities. Some of the activities include: voter registration, Assault on Illiteracy; Habitat for Humanity; mentoring; and participation in fundraisers for charitable organizations.
College Endowment Fund
Each year the fraternity gives at least $50,000 to historically black college and universities in furtherance of Omega’s commitment to provide philanthropic support.
Reclamation & Retention
Memorial Service
March 12th of each year chapters conduct an appropriate service to recall the memory of those members who have entered into Ω Chapter.
Talent Hunt
Talent Hunt provides exposure, encouragement and financial assistance to talented young people participating in the performing arts. Winners are awarded recognition and may be given college scholarships.
Health Initiatives
Chapters facilitate, participate and coordinate activities that promote good health practices. Some of the programs are the Charles Drew Blood Drive and partnership with the American Diabetes Association.
Voter Registration, Education And Mobilization
Chapters facilitate and participate in activities that uplift their communities through the power of the vote.

STEM
The Fraternity’s STEM initiatives are designed to get students across the world excited about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Fatherhood and Mentoring
Every level of the Fraternity, particularly at the chapter level, is asked to play an active role in support of the partnership by actively engaging in the promotion of the Fraternity’s Fatherhood Mentoring initiative.

NAACP
Every district and chapter of the fraternity is required to maintain a Life Membership at Large in the NAACP. All members of the fraternity are encouraged to join the NAACP.

Our Brothers’ Keeper
The Purpose of the Courtesy Committee is to recognize significant milestones of the brotherhood, to acknowledge life events and to be a source of communication to those Brothers who otherwise would not be able to fellowship with the brotherhood.
The Courtesy Committee continues to share the joys and sorrows of our Brothers. If you have a prayer request, bereavement notice, or celebration, please submit that information using the button below.

TRADITION & CHAPTER STANDARDS
Protocol Committee
Upholding the traditions of Omega Psi Phi through knowledge, preparation, proper observance, and the highest standards of chapter protocol.
Initial Chapter Committee Goals:
- Provide protocol training to enhance everyone’s knowledge of various topics for the betterment of our Chapter and Brothers.
- Provide Chapter members with information on the Fraternity’s ceremonial activities, programs, attire, ritualistic information, Singing of the Hymn, etc.
- Discuss and plan protocol logistics of Chapter activities (Memorial Funeral Service, Memorial Service) etc.
- Document Chapter protocols and procedures.
- Provide Protocol Committee presence on the 2nd District Protocol Committee.
To improve the preparation for a Brother’s Omega Service or to have biographical data for other commemorative recognition events, it is crucial to have information that tells a complete story of that brother’s life and accomplishments. In accordance with the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc’s. International Headquarters Policy and Procedures Manual, all Fraternity property of the International Headquarters transmitted to the custody of the chapter (or Brother) for its use, as provided herein, shall remain the property of International Headquarters subject to recall or removal in the event of the chapter’s (or Brother’s) suspension or deactivation. The chapter’s officers shall have the absolute responsibility and obligation to maintain the custody and control over the Fraternity issued property when so requested by the International Headquarters or District Representative pursuant to our Constitution.
“The local chapter shall be responsible for retrieving paraphernalia after a Brother enters OMEGA CHAPTER: Thirty-days (30) after a Brother enters OMEGA CHAPTER, the local chapter or chapter advisor should send a letter to the family inquiring about the disposition of paraphernalia. If there is no response from the family in thirty-days (30), the local chapter Basileus should contact the family, verbally. Once used paraphernalia is received, it should be added to the chapter’s archives sent to Corporate Headquarters or disposed of by burning. NOTE: The family should not be harassed in any way.”
Each Brother is personally responsible for protecting the privacy of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. issued property and paraphernalia.
Once initiated, each Brother should discuss the disposition of their Omega property and paraphernalia with their loved ones in the event of their demise.
Part of any Brother’s Estate Planning should be the designation of an Omega Brother to receive his paraphernalia or instructions for his loved ones to contact the local chapter for disposition.
To facilitate achieving the above goals, Gamma Pi Chapter has developed the form (Accessed Here or by link above) in hopes that each member will use it to ensure the proper handling of their Omega Psi Phi property when the time comes.

Empowering Future Scholars: Project ENRICH
Project ENRICH, the award-winning flagship initiative of the Gamma Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and Charles Drew Memorial Scholarship Fund (CDMSF), is a premier mentoring program dedicated to preparing high school students for college success. Designed for young men and women in grades 9-12, Project ENRICH provides the critical guidance, resources, and support necessary to excel in higher education.
Open to ALL high school students across Maryland, our innovative curriculum connects participants with industry leaders, college professors, academic advisors, and accomplished Project ENRICH alumni. These dedicated professionals provide invaluable mentorship, helping students navigate the academic and financial challenges of pursuing a college degree.
As a fraternity that upholds Scholarship as a fundamental principle, Omega Psi Phi remains committed to shaping the next generation of leaders. Through Project ENRICH, we extend this commitment to the youth of Maryland by equipping them with the tools to thrive in college and beyond.
